Wlodzimierz Suleja
Historian, professor at the University of Wroclaw, Director of the Institute of National Remembrance office in Wroclaw. Member of the Polish United Workers' Party from 1969 to 1981; member of Solidarność Independent Trade Union since 1980. Arrested in September 1985 followed by a suspended sentence to 8 months per 2 years in May 1986. Suleja was member of the Wroclaw Citizens’ Committee from 1989 to 1990. Chief Editor of Dziennik Dolnośląski from 1990 to 1991. His most important publications include Solidarność in Lower Silesia (1986), Polish Socialist Party. 1892-1914 (1988), Józef Piłsudski (1995, 1996), Wroclaw. The Legacy of Centuries (1997), A Temporary State Council (1998), and Józef Piłsudski. Selected Letters (1999).
