The publication is dedicated to the exhibition Kherson. The Steppe Holds, which explores the cultural history of Kherson and the Kherson region. It is built around the private and production archives of the Kherson-based creative duo—film director Roman Bondarchuk and producer and screenwriter Darya Averchenko. The edition includes a variety of visual materials and stories related to Bondarchuk’s three films—Ukrainian Sheriffs, Volcano, and The Editorial Office—as well as the exhibition itself. The book also features texts on the natural and cultural landscapes of the Kherson region.
This publication was created in cooperation with the Art Arsenal Community NGO and supported by the ERSTE Foundation, which creates social, economic, and cultural infrastructure and innovation for a changing Europe. We empower initiatives for change and contribute to civil society development and regional progression.
