On March 10th, the Mystetskyi Arsenal and Stanza, Scotland’s International Poetry Festival, invite you to join an outstanding event — Translation in Focus: Beyond Any Curtain.
The event will take place live from 11:30 to 12:30 (GMT) in Edinburgh, The Byre Theatre — Auditorium, St Andrews, Abbey Street, KY16 9LA (how to get there — google maps link). Tickets to attend the offline event — click here.

For those of you, who are interested but will not have an opportunity to attend the live event, there will be a live stream on StAnza website and YouTube channel (tickets to attend the online event — click here).
During 2021, StAnza collaborated with Mystetskyi Arsenal and the International Book Arsenal Festival (Kyiv, Ukraine), inviting eight poets from Scotland and Ukraine to participate in the project. With the help of translator Uilleam Blacker, they transposed poetry between English and Ukrainian languages, Shetland and Hutsul dialects. Based on the project, Grigory Semenchuk created music tracks for which ukrainian poets have tried themselves in the role of performers
The project was curated by Oksana Schur (Ukraine) and Annie Rutherford (Scotland).
The Ukrainian poets are appearing as the final part of a collaborative translation project. You’ll hear poetry, translations and creative versions by Hannah Lavery, Roseanne Watt, Andrew Blair, and Vicki Husband, as well as Les Beley, Olena Huseinova, Myroslav Laiuk, and Lyuba Yakimchuk.
