This publication is dedicated to the Heart of Earth exhibition project, which lasted in Mystetskyi Arsenal from November 25, 2022, to February 26, 2023. It brought together the works of contemporary Ukrainian artists who, in various ways, work with the subjects of the landscape and their connection to it, talk about caring for the earth, and discuss strategies for resisting environmental and economic violence caused by war. The texts presented in this publication, namely essays contributed by their authors and summaries of public discussions from the exhibition’s parallel program, reflect on these issues and consider them within a global context.

The publication is printed within the framework of the project “Exchange of the German and Ukrainian Book and Literature Industries”, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media in 2024.
