The damage of the Museum of History and Local Lore in the village of Ivankiv in Kyiv region at the end of February 2022 reveals the true purpose of the Russian aggressor, who directs his attacks on cultural heritage sites, trying to destroy the manifestations of Ukrainian identity. The small museum, which exhibited the works of Maria Prymachenko, who was born and lived all her life in the village of Bolotnya near Ivankiv, became known outside Ukraine as a symbol of Russian barbarism. At the same time, Maria Prymachenko’s work Monkeys and а Crocodile is perceived quite metaphorically in the current circumstances.
