He. From the Series “Aliens”

Volodymyr Bovkun (born 1951, Uman) is a Kyiv artist and sculptor who works with such types of fine arts as graphics, sculpture, easel and monumental painting. He is a participant of group and personal exhibitions in Ukraine, Great Britain, USA, Austria, and France. Volodymyr Bovkun’s works are in the permanent exhibition of the Norton Dodge Collection (Washington), in the collections of the Austrian Parliament and the Checkpoint Charlie Museum (Berlin).

The time that constantly changes the optics, the events that occur — this all affects the level of emotional tension in the perception of particular works. After February 24, we look differently at things that once seemed obvious. The sculpture He from the Series “Aliens”, created by Volodymyr Bovkun in 2012, is a grey model of a male figure without a head. Will we be able to realize the new reality and not lose our heads under the pressure of circumstances?
