Lectures on World Literature for High School Teachers

Is the study of foreign literature limited to talks about the world class? How is the "golden list" of the best books formed, which of them falls into the school curriculum and which is essentially artistic translation - the art of giving a chance to speak a book in another language? Does Ukrainian literature really look so poor and uninteresting in the context of foreign language - and what if they can be compared?

Let's talk about it on December 4-8 in the Art Arsenal, as part of a regular lecture course from the Literary Lab.

The lecture course "We are in the context" is addressed primarily to teachers of foreign literature. University teachers will share with the teachers of secondary school knowledge about modern views on the study of literature, and in return will get an impression of what the students are now studying and what students are interested in - their tomorrow's students. We invite not only profile educators, but also teachers of other subjects, librarians - those who benefit from this course for advanced training.

Our lecturers:

  • Ivanyuk Sergey Semenovich (Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Literary Studies, NaUKMA)
  • Kiselyova Lyudmila Alexandrovna (Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Literary Studies, NaUKMA)
